CattleUSA Insurance Partner Logic Ag Marketing Commentary

Maybe I said this a month ago, but this is getting western now. I write this letter after just hanging up with my buyer, bidding 6 weight steers up to the same dollars per head I bought 8 weights for a month ago. And during that same period, the board has been mostly sideways, giving no one the opportunity to hedge off their ALL TIME RECORD HIGH risk. I'll be completely honest, I won't be surprised if the feeders getting placed right now make money or lose money. The way deferred futures are trading, the traders don't have a lot of faith in this market holding that long. But looking at the record high cash basis we have, feed yards don't care what the futures do because the leverage is in owning the physical. We've come along ways since the Covid low just 5 years ago, and I think it is absolutely wonderful!!
